In this edition of the notebook, Jacqueline Pinto talks about her pet sitting business, Just Like You Do Pet Sitters, LLC. What is your milestone? We are celebrating our sixth year in business. We were established on Feb. 1, 2006. How did you get involved in this business? It is a strange story. I'm a pastry chef by trade. I've always had a love for animals. I started noticing that there is a great need for quality, loving pet care. There were other companies that offered pet care but I felt that the thing that was missing from the care given by some of these company was the love. That is the thing that the pets miss the most when their parents are away. What is the most stressful part of your day and why? The start of the day is the most stressful. That is the time where I must coordinate with my staff all the sits for the upcoming day, and update any changes with them. What is your favorite part of being in business? The best part of this business are my pet parents and their fur babies. We have become like a big family. We have been with a lot of our clients through different stages in their lives. We started to work for one couple when they got engaged, through the wedding planning and wedding, now with the birth of their first child. What is your favorite book, movie, videogame or TV show and why? One of my favorite TV shows is Grey's Anatomy. I think that I like to watch people helping others. What hobbies do you have when you're not working? I don't have much time for hobbies, but I would say my most favorite down time activity is sitting with my two Maltese girls [dogs] Coconut and Pineapple on my lap. Who has inspired you the most and why? My mother inspired me the most. She was a divorced woman when divorce wasn't acceptable. She worked hard to raise and support me without any help. She taught me that you can do anything if you set your mind to it. For more information about Just Like You Do Pet Sitters, LLC, email Jacqueline Pinto at jacquelinepinto@msn.com.
