    August 6 At 1:13 p.m., Byram Police received a call about a motor vehicle accident on Belton Street. When patrol arrived, it was determined that the suspect vehicle crashed into a mailbox and another vehicle left the scene and was in the driveway of 20 Belton Street. Patrol went to the residence and spoke to the driver of the vehicle, Elaine E. Fluke, 50, of Byram, who appeared to be intoxicated. Fluke was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which she was unable to do. Fluke was then arrested and transported to the station for processing. At the station, Fluke refused to submit to breath tests. Fluke was charged with DWI, Failure to Report an Accident and Leaving the Scene of an Accident, and was released to a relative pending a Byram Township Municipal Court date. At 11:44 p.m., Byram Police received a phone call about a possible intoxicated driver traveling on Tamarack Road. A Byram Township patrol observed the vehicle turn onto Old Indian Spring Road and then onto Ghost Pony Road. The officer initiated a motor vehicle stop with the vehicle and spoke to the driver, Adam M. Hayes, 30, of Hopatcong. While speaking to Hayes, the officer believed that Hayes was intoxicated. Hayes performed several field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was then arrested and transported to the station for processing. At the station, Hayes refused to submit to breath tests. He was charged with DWI, Refusal to Submit to Breath Tests, Unregistered Vehicle, Careless Driving and Driving While Suspended advised of a mandatory Byram Township Court date and turned over to the Hopatcong Police Department due to a $500 warrant that was out for him.
