    June 15 At 10 a.m., the Byram Police Dept. received a call about a man brandishing a rifle out of the window of 16 Chestnut St. When police arrived, they spoke to the victim, who stated that he was performing work for the area’s water company and he had to dig a hole on the property of the accused, Gregory A. Peterson, 32, of Byram. The victim stated that Peterson became angry at this and displayed a rifle in a threatening manner through the window of the house. Peterson was arrested and transported to the station for processing, where he was charged with possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, terroristic threats and simple assault. Peterson was taken directly to the Byram Municipal Court for his first appearance and released pending a future appearance.
