Byram Police

June 13 Byram police received a cell-phone call from a 15-year-old juvenile who stated he was lost in the woods. The juvenile left his house in the Cranberry Lake section of town and walked into the woods at Allamuchy State Park. After he became lost he called from his cell phone and his approximate co-ordinates were noted. A search was started in the area by Byram police officers. The Byram police ATV unit, Sussex County Sheriff’s Dept., a member of the Lakeland Emergency Squad and the chief ranger from the Boy Scout camp at Allamuchy State Park participated in the search. After approximately one and a half hours, the juvenile was located in the woods in the area of the Boy Scout camp and returned to his mother.
