    November 18 Byram Twp. Police arrested Jeffrey G. Bissonette, 34, of Flanders, for a variety of drug and driving offenses. A Byram Twp. Police officer was conducting a business check in the Acorn Plaza when he observed Bissonette and an unknown male engage in what appeared to be a drug transaction. Bissonette then entered a vehicle, a 1991 2-door Mercury Cougar, and began to drive away from the Byram Twp. patrol. A pursuit began and Bissonette was arrested in Mt. Olive in the International Trade Zone. During the pursuit, Bissonette threw several bags out of the driver’s side window of the vehicle. The bags were later recovered and contained suspected cocaine. Bissonette was arrested, transported to Byram Twp. Police headquarters, processed, and lodged in the Sussex County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail. He was charged with the following: eluding, possession of cocaine, conspiracy, driving while suspended, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane, and possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle. November 19 Emmanuel Carrero, 19, of Hardwick, Lionel Ortiz, 19, of Blairstown, and Aaron M. McPleasant, Jr., 18, of Franklin, were arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, following a motor vehicle stop. A Byram Twp. Police officer observed a 1994 green Chevrolet pick-up truck with a loud exhaust traveling north on Rt. 206. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and after a brief investigation, Carrero, Ortiz and McPleasant were arrested. The suspects were taken to police headquarters and were processed. They were charged with possession of under 50 g of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released pending a Byram Twp. Municipal Court date. November 20 Robert B. Schuffenhauer, 27, of Andover was arrested for driving while intoxicated, following a motor vehicle stop. A Byram Twp. Police officer observed a 1994 white Chrysler convertible driving on Rt. 206 S. in the yellow crosshatch section of the roadway in front of the ShopRite Plaza. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and after a brief investigation, the driver, Schuffenhauer, who failed several field sobriety tests, was arrested for DWI. Schuffenhauer was taken to police headquarters where he was processed and failed two breath tests. Schuffenhauer was issued summonses for failure to maintain lane and DWI. He was released to his brother pending a Byram Twp. Municipal Court date. His vehicle was impounded for 12 hours as required by state law. November 24 Matthew R. Locascio, 24, of Hackettstown, was arrested and charged with drving while intoxicated, following a motor vehicle stop. A Byram Twp. Police officer observed a black 1999 Ford wagon make a wide right turn with no turn signal onto Waterloo Rd. from Rt. 206 S. The officer initiated a motor vehicle stop with the vehicle on Waterloo Rd. After a brief investigation, the driver, Locascio, failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested for DWI. Locascio was transported to police headquarters, where he failed two breath tests. He was issued summonses for DWI, failure to keep right, speeding, and failure to exhibit documents. Locascio was released to a friend pending a Byram Twp. Municipal Court date.
