Byram Police
December 15 At 6:44 p.m., a Byram police officer observed a 2001 Infinity SUV parked in a handicapped parking spot in the Byram Plaza. A registration check of the vehicle showed a name familiar to the officer because of a theft complaint he and another officer had taken several days earlier. The officer then spoke to Mario J. Coniglione, 42, of Andover, who was present with the vehicle. After a brief investigation, it was concluded that Coniglione was the same person who drove away without paying after purchasing $28 worth of gas from the Exxon gas station several days earlier. Coniglione was charged with theft and driving while suspended. He was then turned over to the Fairfield Police Dept. because of an active warrant from their jurisdiction. Coniglione was advised of the mandatory Byram Municipal Court date. December 17 At 10:16 p.m., a Byram police officer observed a 2000 four-door silver Nissan speeding through the construction zone on Rte. 206 S. Dodt was transported to the station for processing, where he refused to submit to breath tests. Dodt was charged with speeding, DWI and refusing to submit to breath tests before being released to a relative pending a Byram Municipal Court date. At 1:58 a.m., a Byrarn police officer observed a 1998 four-door white Mercury drive over the double line on Rte. 206 S. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the driver, Andrew B. Hoffman, 22, of Byram, failed several field sobriety tests. He was arrested for DWI and transported to the station for processing, where he failed two breath tests. Hoffman was charged with failure to maintain lane and DWI. He was released to a friend pending a Byram Municipal Court date.
