September. 10 At 1:54 a.m., Larry Peyton, 26, of Byram, was stopped while traveling on Route 206. A check of his driver's license revealed that it was suspended. While being interviewing about his driver's license status, Peyton refused to follow the officer's directions to keep his hands out of his pockets. A search of the driver uncovered a bag of marijuana in his pants pocket. Peyton was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and released pending a Byram Municipal Court date later this month. Peyton was charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of a controlled and dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and driving while suspended. September 11 At 2:26 a.m. A vehicle traveling on Route 206 passed by a patrol car and then sped up making a left turn into a bank parking lot without signaling. The vehicle then drove around the back of the bank. The officer followed the vehicle to the back of the bank. Further investigation revealed the driver, Enrique Torres, 38, to be under the influence of alcohol. Torres was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters where he was processed and charged with failure to use turn signals, reckless driving, having tinted windows, driving while intoxicated, failure to submit to breath tests. Torres was released to a family member pending a municipal court hearing.
