Byram Police
January 11 At 2:17 a.m., a Byram police officer observed a white Jeep Cherokee traveling at a high rate of speed on Rt. 80 West. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the driver, Dominica Demaio, 39, of Columbia, failed several field sobriety tests. Demaio was arrested for DWI and transported to the station for processing. At the station, she refused to submit to breath tests. Demaio was released to a family member pending a Byram Municipal Court date. She was charged with speeding, DWI and refusal to submit to breath tests. Her vehicle was impounded for 12 hours as required by state law. January 12 At 6:30 p.m., a Byram patrol observed a vehicle speeding 71 m.p.h. in the construction zone. The vehicle was stopped and further investigation revealed the driver, William Enchelmaier, 38, of Andover, to be operating under the influence. He was also found to be in possession of marijuana and a smoking device. Enchelmaier was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and charged with speeding, DWI, possession of marijuana, possession of CDS paraphernalia, and possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. He was released to a relative pending a municipal court hearing.
