Byram Police
On Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 10:01 p.m. the Byram Twp. Police Department received a call about a possible intoxicated driver on Route 206 South near Raimo’s of Stanhope scrap metal business. When the officer arrived, he noticed a tan Ford Explorer matching the vehicle description, backing down the shoulder or Route 206 South. After speaking to the driver, Harry Paul Holland of Byram Township, it appeared that he was intoxicated. Holland was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which he could not perform. Holland was arrested for driving while intoxicated and transported to Byram Township police headquarters for processing. Holland consented to and failed two breath tests. He was charged with the following and released to a friend pending a Municipal Court date: driving while intoxicated and driving while suspended. The investigating officer was Patrolman Tierney. Stanhope Police assisted with the investigation.
