Byram Township Police
Oct. 7 The Byram Township Police Department was asked by Bridgewater P.D. to respond to Panther Lake in an attempt to locate Daniel W. Vanbree, 45, who had an active warrant for his arrest out of Bridgewater. Patrols located Vanbree and while speaking to Vanbree in his residence, observed a smoking device containing marijuana. Vanbree was arrested and taken to the station for processing. In lieu of $2500, he was turned over to the Bridgewater P.D. the Byram Department charged him with possession of under 50g of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Oct. 9 The Byram Township Police responded to a possible drug overdose taking place on Bridget Way near Sandra Lane. When the officer arrived, he spoke to the caller, Atilla Azarni, 22, of Stanhope who stated that be and Christopher J. Faschan, 21, of Sparta both consumed a quantity of heroin while in the vehicle that was at the scene. Fasuhan then began to overdose. Azami also stated that he had hypodermic syringes and more heroin that he threw into the woods. Lakeland Emergency Squad responded and transported Faschan to the hospital. Azami was arrested and transported to the station for processing. At the station, Azami was charged with possession of heroin, under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a hypodermic syringe. He was lodged in the Sussex County Jail in lieu of S5,000 bail. Faschan was charged with possession of heroin, under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic syringe, possession of drugs in a motor vehicle, and open container of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle.
