    On Nov. 15, 2011, the Byram Township Police Department responded to a report of a possible break-in on Lee Hill Rd. in Byram. During this time the police also received another report of a break in on the same road. During the investigation it was determined that the suspect, Michael L. Dorando, 43, of Mt. Arlington, is acquainted with both victims. Dorando was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary, theft, criminal attempt at theft, driving while suspended, uninsured driving, unregistered vehicle, failure to wear a helmet, failure to wear safety glasses, and no headlamps on a motorcycle. On Nov. 20, 2011, a Byram Township police officer stopped a car on Rt. 206 North and Acorn St. in Byram. The officer smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle. A search yielded a quantity of marijuana and several open containers of alcohol. The driver, Demario Treadwell, 21, of Maple Heights, OH, was arrested and charged with possession of under 50 grams of marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle, open container inside a motor vehicle and an improper left-hand turn. On Dec. 10, 2011, the Byram Township Police Department responded to a call of a possible intoxicated motorist driving with a flat tire on Rt. 206 North. The driver was located at an Exxon gas station and appeared to be intoxicated. Justin M. Ogle, 23, of Rockaway, was arrested and charged with DWI, being under the influence of a controlled dangerous substance, careless driving, unlicensed driving, failure to exhibit a drivers license and improper parking. On Dec. 13, 2011, the Byram Township Police Department responded to a report of a party taking place on River Rd. in Byram where underage people were drinking alcohol. When the officers arrived they spoke with Jessica Nastro, 19, who was intoxicated. Nastro was also in possession of synthetic marijuana. Nastro was arrested and charged with the local ordinance of underage possession/consumption of alcohol at a private residence. On Dec. 15, 2011, a Byram police officer responded to a report of shoplifting at ShopRite Liquors in Byram. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Steven Payne, 20, of Livingston, who admitted to trying to shoplift an energy drink. Payne was also found to be in possession of drug paraphrenalia. He was arrested and charged with shoplifting and possession of drug paraphrenalia. On Jan. 7 the Byram Township Police Department responded to a report of a dispute at an apartment building in Byram. Upon arrival, officers heard screaming coming from the second floor of the building. After breaking down the door, officers found two individuals involved in an altercation. Dennis J. Ladlee, 55, of Byram, was arrested on disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. James L. Williams Jr., 56, of Franklin, was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Ogdensburg.
