Byram's rec department going down the tubes, inviting residents to join in

    Area residents ate invited to join the Byram Township Parks \and Recreation Department on Thursday, Dec. 29 for a family day of snow-tubing at Big Boulder Ski Resort in the nearby Pocono Mountains. The cost for this trip is $20. The bus leaves Byram Township Municipal Building on Mansfield Drive at 10 a.m. and returns at 7 p.m. To register for this trip, stop by the Byram Parks and Recreation office any weekday between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. For further information, call 973-347-2500 x160/161. Teens ages 14 to 17 may come on their own, providing medical forms and permission slips have been filled out in advance. Teens will be required to check in with chaperones at regular intervals throughout the day. Parents are responsible for children under 14 years of age. Snow tubing is just like sledding but without having to haul a sled back up the hill. Just sit back and enjoy the tow rope lift and then the wild ride downhill. From Big Boulder’s 12 snow-tubing chutes, you may choose single, double or family chutes with four snow tubing lifts.
