Cancer care program to be reintroduced at Saint Clare's
Sussex Saint Clare Hospital has reintroduced Cancer Care, the comprehensive oncology program of Saint Clare’s Health System. The hospital debuted the stronger and expanded program earlier in September. “Saint Clare’s has always played a major role in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer in northwest New Jersey. With the reintroduction of Cancer Care at Saint Clare’s, we have rededicated ourselves to our community, to our cancer patients, both old and new, and to their care,” says Gary J. Blan, President and CEO of Saint Clare’s Health System. Blan added, “Through the hard work of a team of clinical professionals, cancer experts, and the support of our medical staff and employees, we have assembled the most advanced range of cancer services, supported by the most talented and recognized cancer specialists in the region. The new face of our oncology program is designed to provide a level of cancer treatment traditionally found in large university hospitals, in the communities in which our patients live.” Providing a solid foundation to this new program, Cancer Care at Saint Clare’s has added the services of radiation oncologists, Donald F. Cann, M.D. and Durgesh Hajela, M.D. Dr. Cann will serve as the Medical Director of Radiation Oncology. The new Cancer Care at Saint Clare’s offers radiation therapy; medical, hematological and surgical oncology; inpatient care at Saint Clare’s Hospital/Denville, outpatient care at hospital campuses in Denville, Dover and Sussex; cancer screenings; diagnostic testing and imaging (PET/CT, digital and conventional mammography); lymphedema therapy; complementary medicine; hospice care; and educational and support services.
