Care and concern shown by Kittatinny students

Hampton - How do you measure caring and concern? At Kittatinny Regional High School, they are measured in food and clothing. The Junior High Student Council sponsored its annual food and clothing drives, and youngsters heeded the call. Middle school students lugged nearly 800 food items to school, the largest collection since literature reading teacher Kathy Pomerantz and physical education teacher Kathy DeCesari launched the drive in 2003. In addition, the student council collected 10 immense bags of clothing that Harvest Home, a SCARC affiliate, distributes at no charge to needy Sussex County residents. The donated food is earmarked for Sussex County Meals on Wheels, which distributes food to homebound residents. The food will be packed into “blizzard boxes” when hot meals cannot be delivered.
