Church expands welcome
Newton - In 1998, The Newton Pride Foundation established the Newton High School Hall of Fame to recognize outstanding individuals with a connection to Newton High School. Inductees must have an outstanding career in academics, arts, athletics, business, community service, government, medicine, research, or any other profession deemed appropriate. To be considered, an individual must meet one or more of the following criteria: a graduate of Newton High School, a current or former employee of the high school, or an individual who has performed an outstanding service to the school. The committee is currently for nominations for its 2007 class. The Foundation will honor them at its annual induction ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 21, at Perona Farms. Past inductees into the Newton High School Hall of Fame include: (1998) Henry Boersch, John Frank, Dr. Jack Grabow, Dr. William Gray, Janet Mitten Hutchinson; (1999) Arthur Disque, John Iliff, Ira Lubert, Denton Quick, Joe Scalzo; (2000) Dr. Jack Campbell, Denys Brown Davis, Col.
