Jefferson Township — Over the past 20 years, it has become the custom of local dignities, special guests, and of late, the Mayor’s Citizens of the Year to ride in convertibles along the Jefferson Township Day parade route waving and spreading good cheer to the crowds. This 21st annual celebration is no exception, and owners of convertibles are asked to contact the Jefferson Arts Committee if they wish to drive their vehicles in the parade scheduled for 11 a.m., on Saturday, July 14. The vehicles will leave the Jefferson Township Museum on Dover-Milton Road in Oak Ridge with assigned guests, and proceed to the municipal building on Weldon Road, past the Arts Committee’s review stand on Weldon Road, and up to the Jefferson Township High School fields. If you would like to drive your convertible in the parade, call Parade Chairpersons Betty Eastman at 973-697-8283 or Jeanne Hantson at 973-697-9161 as soon as possible.
