Cops seek robbery suspect

Sparta - At 8:27 p.m. Oct. 5, a white male, described as between the ages 17 and 19 years of age, approached the attendant at Joe’s Mohawk Service Center on West Shore Trail wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and black shorts. He was armed with a metal pipe. The suspect demanded money, took the day’s receipts, and fled the area on foot. Sparta Police Detective Ron Casteel is investigating. Sheriff’s Officer Bork (K-9) responded to the scene. The suspect was not found. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sparta Police Detective Bureau at 973- 729-3017.
