April 8 Fawn C. Talmadge, 29, of Franklin, was sentenced to three years probation and 50 hours of community service. She must also submit her DNA and pay $438.74 restitution. She pled guilty on Feb. 22, 2010 to third degree forgery. She admitted to forging another person’s name on checks to purchase food at the Weis Market totaling $438.74. April 12 Lisa Griffen, 39, of Newton, pled guilty to child endangerment, a fourth degree crime. April 13 Joseph Cavanaugh, 25, of Vernon Township, pled guilty to vehicular homicide, a second degree crime; assault by auto, a fourth degree crime, and the motor vehicle offense of driving while intoxicated. Cavanaugh admitted that on Aug. 2, 2008, in Vernon, he recklessly drove a vehicle, while intoxicated, thereby causing the death of Ryan Olsen and bodily injury to Jason Concoy, both passengers in the vehicle. April 15 A juvenile pled guilty to third degree burglary and third degree possession of ecstasy. He was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The juvenile, age 17, of Sparta, was sentenced to 12 months probation on condition that he attend school every day and follow all home and school rules, complete intensive outpatient drug program, counseling, undergo random drug testing, submit a DNA sample and he can only drive to his counseling sessions. In February the juvenile broke into a vehicle in Sparta and removed credit cards. During a further investigation he was found to be in possession of ecstasy. April 16 Jill E. Gallo, 47, of Sparta, was sentenced to three years probation and 180 days on the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program. She must pay court costs and a fine of $4,000. She is also barred from holding any office or position of honor, trust or profit under this state or any of its administrative or political subdivisions. She pled guilty on Feb. 2, 1010 to third degree theft. She admitted that while employed by the Byram Township Building Department between 2007 and 2008, she took $6,443 in cash. Brian Howell, 22, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to five years probation, with 39 days jail and ordered to perform 250 hours of community service. He must pay $25,000 restitution to the Victims of Crime Compensation Office and $205 in fines and penalties. He pled guilty on Feb. 3, 2010, to aggravated assault, a fourth degree crime. Amanda Gold, 21, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to three years probation. She must serve 45 days in the Sheriff’s Labor Assistance Program. She must pay $350 to a victim of her offenses. In addition, $1,205 in penalties and fines were also imposed, together with loss of her driving privileges for 24 months. Gold pled guilty to assault by auto a crime of the fourth degree, driving while intoxicated, obstruction and failure to report an accident. Stephanie Bocchino, age 19, of Branchville, was sentenced to three years probation. She pled guilty on Feb. 8, 2010, to possession of CDS, a third degree crime. Erik Walter, 20, of Port Jervis, N.Y., was sentenced to three years probation. He pled guilty on Jan. 19, 2010, to possession of CDS, a third degree crime, and tampering with evidence, a fourth degree crime. Dawn Vahaly, 31, of Franklin, was sentenced to four years in the New Jersey State Prison. She pled guilty on March 29, 2010, to possession of CDS, a third degree crime. Christopher Hoyer, 22, of Newton was sentenced to seven years state prison with one year of parole ineligibility and $205 in fines. He pled guilty on Jan. 27, 2010 to the second degree crime of possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose. He admitted that on March 31, 2009 he pointed a .177 caliber handgun at another individual for the purpose of scaring them. Christopher Faschan, 22, of Sparta was sentenced to three years probation, outpatient substance abuse treatment and $155 in fines. He pled guilty on Feb. 8, 2010 to the third degree crime of conspiracy to possess a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to agreeing with another individual to obtain and possess heroin on Oct. 9, 2009 in Byram Township. Christopher Calder, 33, of Sparta was sentenced to five years probation, 281 days in the county jail, outpatient mental health treatment and $155 in fines. He pled guilty on March 1, 2010 to the third degree crime of terroristic threats. He admitted to discharging a firearm in his home on July 11, 2009. April 19 Steven M. Zecchino, 28, of Vernon pled guilty to third degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Following a verbal altercation, he grabbed a knife and threatened to cause harm to the individual. Alfred Brasile, 50, of Sussex, pled guilty to sexual assault, a second degree crime, and endangering, a second degree crime.
