October 5 Frank Fiorvante, age 50, and Kathleen Dimeglio, age 41, pled guilty to the second degree crime of conspiracy to commit official misconduct. They are scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 1. They admitted that on various dates between September 2005 and January 2006, they smuggled cocaine, photographs, magazines, drug paraphernalia, a cell phone and cell phone batteries to Fiorvanie while he was incarcerated in the Sussex County jail, and that they did so in agreement with Sanrino Pronesti, who was a cook at the jail. An indictment charges Robert E. Coward, age 37, Newton, with second degree aggravated assault, third degree terroristic threats and third degree criminal restraint. The Grand Jury alleges that the defendant committed these offenses during a domestic violence incident with an adult female. The case was investigated by Sgt. Michael Monaco of Newton Police Department. The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Robin Lawrie. Coward will be arraigned before the Superior Court in Newton within the next 6 weeks. Coward is out on bail. Two indictments charge Brian A. Curry, age 18, of Highland Lakes, with second degree accomplice liability to commit robbery, second degree conspiracy to commit robbery and third degree possession of a controlled dangerous substance. The robbery case was investigated by Detective Sean Talt of the Vernon Township Police Department, and the CDS case was investigated by Patrolman Charles Reid of the Vernon Township Police Department . The Grand Jury alleges that on March 19, Curry and two other persons drove into the Sunrise Mart in Vernon and attempted to take money from the attendant by force. On May 5 in Vernon, Curry was arrested for minor possession of alcoholic beverages and while in the holding cell at Vernon Police Department it was discovered that he had 51 Aprazolam (Xanex) pills in his possession. Christopher Lewinson, age 28, of Unionville, N.Y., was sentenced to a two-year term of probation. As a condition of his probation, Lewinson is to serve 15 days in jail, 15 days in the Sheriffs Labor Assistance Program and continue with his mental health counseling. Lewinson was also sentenced to a six-month driver’s license suspension and to pay $ 1,330 in fines and penalties. He pled guilty on August 9. Lewinson admitted to the court that on or about August 2, 2005, he was a passenger in a motor vehicle that had been stopped by Ptl. Marc Rubino of the Sparta Township Police Department. The police investigation revealed that defendant was in possession of five bags of heroin and two hypodermic needles. He also admitted that on March 5 in Sussex Borough he was involved in a domestic violence dispute and that he had physically assaulted the female. October 11 An indictment charges James B. Conklin, age 26, formerly of Sparta, with the fourth degree crime of failing to comply with Megan’s Law by failing to re-register a change of address with the Sparta Township Police Department. Conklin is also indicted for two counts of the fourth degree crime of violating the conditions of a special sentence of Community Supervision for Life having been convicted of a sex offense requiring community supervision for life. The case was investigated by Parole Officer Ryan Andrison of the Department of Corrections-Parole Divison. An indictment charges Thomas Ziniewicz, age 34, of Newton with the fourth degree crime of failing to comply with Megan’s Law by failing to re-register a change of address with the Newton Police Department. The case was investigated by Det. Jason Garrigan of the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office and Lt. Michael Richards and Det. Neil Casey of Newton Police Department. The case was presented to the Grand Jury by Assistant Prosecutor Robin Lawrie. Arraignment before the Superior Court in Newton will be within the next 6 weeks. A Grand Jury indictment is a charge only. The defendants are presumed innocent until guilt may be proved at a jury trial.
