    December 11 Angel B. Gonzalez, age 22, of Montague, pled guilty to the third degree crime of possession of cocaine. He is scheduled for sentencing on Feb. 9. He admitted to possessing a small bag of cocaine that was discovered during a motor vehicle stop by Sparta Police Officer Brian Hassloch on Oct. 14. December 12 Brenda Hopping, age 46, of Dover, was sentenced to two years probation, 55 days in jail, a substance abuse evaluation and treatment, $1,205 in fines and a six month loss of driver’s license. She pled guilty on Aug. 28 to the third degree crime of possession of heroin. She admitted to possessing a small amount of heroin that was seized by Hopatcong Police Officer Joseph Magrini on July 12 when the police responded to the home of another individual regarding Hopping’s overdose. December 14 Clinton Mulin, age 18, of Newton, was sentenced to 12 months probation on condition that he serve 30 hours community service, complete GED or alternative high school diploma program, write a letter of apology to victim, undergo random drug testing, pay restitution to the victim and pay court fines. Mohn took a sword and a jug containing over $900 in coins from a friend’s home. December 15 Jamie Marino, age 28, of Clifton, was sentenced to two years probation, which will be transferred to Passaic County. She must pay restitution in the amount of $456, pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at her expense. She pled guilty on May 1 to the theft, a 3rd degree crime. She admitted to stealing jewelry from a residence and then taking it to a pawnshop to sell. This occurred in Franklin on March 24, 2005. Susan Davenport, age 51, of Franklin, was sentenced to one year probation and must pay restitution in the amount of $500 (joint and several). She must pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at her expense. She pled guilty on April 3 to conspiracy to commit theft by deception, a 3rd degree crime. Between June 5, 2005 and Aug. 1, 2005, the defendant and a co-defendant wrote several checks to the Wal-Mart in Franklin knowing there were insufficient funds in the bank account to cover those checks.
