    March 16 A 15-year-old male from Hampton pleaded guilty to creating a false public alarm and was adjudicated a juvenile delinquent by the court. The youth was sentenced to 18 months probation on condition that he serve 30 days in detention (14 days credit-16 days suspended), perform 85 hours of community service, attend school every day after 45-day suspension, follow home rules, complete the ADP program, submit a DNA sample, undergo a substance abuse evaluation and follow all recommendations, and undergo counseling. Driving privileges were suspended during the term of probation. March 17 Peter P. Filak, 55, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to two years probation and must serve 150 hours of community service and continue therapy treatment. He must also pay restitution of $1,000 and total fines and penalties of $155, and submit a DNA sample at his expense. Filak pleaded guilty on Jan. 23 to misapplication of entrusted funds and forgery. In November 2001, while a member of the Hopatcong Fire Department, he admitted to police that he wrote checks out to himself for his personal use from the fire department’s account. Between Jan. 1, 2004, and Dec. 31, 2004, he ordered magazine subscriptions and miscellaneous merchandise in the name of another person. March 20 Maximo C. Erazo, 30, of New Brunswick, pleaded guilty to false swearing. On Sept. 15, he attempted to obtain a driver’s license at the Newton Motor Vehicle office and supplied false information in the paperwork he presented. Sentencing is anticipated for May 12. Shadi Ismail, 19 of Franklin, was sentenced to one year extended probation, with the additional condition that he enter and successfully complete an inpatient rehabilitation program. Ismail pleaded guilty to a violation of probation for failure to report and a positive drug test. Margaret C. Decker, 41, of Newton, pleaded guilty to forgery. Decker, with two other persons, went into the Shop Rite Liquors, where she presented and signed a check of another person, without their permission, for the purpose of obtaining goods. Sentencing is anticipated for May 15.
