County sheriff promotes officers
Newton - Sussex County Sheriff Robert E. Untig recently announced the promotion of several members of the Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Corrections staff. The officers promoted are: Bruce Penberthy, a 24-year veteran of the department, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. Penberthy resides in Dingmans Ferry, Penn., with his wife and two children. Ed Pandiscia, a 15-year veteran of the force, was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. He resides in Newton with his wife and three children. Kevin Kelly, a 7-year veteran, was promoted to lieutenant. He resides in Hopatcong. Additionally, the following officers recently graduated from the 16-week Basic Correctional Officer Training Academy, which was held at the Passaic County Public Safety Training Facility: William Byrne, a resident of Branchville and Joseph Cosentino, who resides in Wantage Township.
