Cultural Affairs Committee to sponsor Battle of the Bands

Sparta — The Sparta Cultural Affairs Committee is sponsoring a competition between teen bands to take place on June 9, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Sparta Library parking lot, at Mohawk Avenue School. Each band will get 15 -20 minutes to play and 10 minutes to break down/set up. Three judges will determine the winners. Prizes will be awarded for the top three bands, and the two best bands will play a special Friday evening concert on August 3, along with a special guest.
