Franklin - Inspired by the belief that dance builds character and lessons learned in the dance studio can be transferred to real world situations, Danielle Devore is opening Dream Xtreme Dance Arts Studio on Sept. 2. Devore, a young Ogdensburg woman, plans a grand opening for that day that will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and will offer a number of free dance classes. “We will be offering quality training for children of all ages in our state-of-the-art facility which has a sprung floor to protect the developing bodies of dancers,” said Devore. “It is our intention to provide a safe nurturing environment for students to grow and learn the disciplines of dance,” she added. Located at 100 Route 23 in Franklin next to the Bagel Tree, Dream Xtreme will offer classes in all styles of dance, including ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, creative movement, preschool combo classes, boys, superhero and acting workshops. Devore has been dancing since she was three years old and has studied classical ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical and modern dance. She has 11 years teaching experience, an associate degree in dance and a bachelor degree in early childhood education, and her choreography has won numerous awards. She has choreographed musicals for both Sparta High School and Hamburg Elementary School. “Everyone who works here is highly qualified and I feel that because dance can be tough we will provide the kind of environment that will make our students feel comfortable,” said Devore.
