Sussex County - As part of their aggressive efforts to meet, reach out and listen to the concerns of Sussex County voters, freeholder candidates, David Lipari of Byram and Joseph Maikisch of Hampton, have launched the Lipari - Maikisch for Freeholder Web site, www.lipari-maikisch.com . “Joe and I understand that because our opponents in this race have the advantage of being the incum-bents, they will automatically get a host of opportunities for free publicity. However, neither Joe nor I are strangers to having to work hard in order to succeed, and the time and effort that we have dedicated to this campaign has enabled us to make significant progress towards achieving our objective of meeting as many Sussex County voters as possible,” said Lipari. “Our new Web site will enable us to reach many of those 60 percent of Sussex County citizens, who like me and Joe, must commute in and out of the county daily to make a living for our families.” In addition to the launching of their new site, Lipari’s and Maikisch’s outreach efforts have so far included attendance at private home “meet and greets”; community activities such as the Newton Chamber’s Spring Fling; the Fredon Day, Stillwater Day, Newton Day, Hampton Day, Sparta Day and Stanhope Day celebrations; meeting some of the county’s business owners at the Sussex County Chamber’s Business To Business Breakfast Meeting; interviews with the key daily and weekly newspapers that service Sussex County, plus an interview on the county’s TV news program, Skylands Weekly. “Dave and I believe that our approach of interacting directly with the voters, and listening to their con-cerns, will be a key factor in our overall plan of action to successfully compete against, and beat, the (Republican) political machine,” Maikisch said. “Because we understand that there are a growing number of voters who get much of their information about, and communicate directly with candidates, via the internet, we have launched our new website with those voters in mind.” Toni Zimmer of Sparta, who also serves as the Chair of the Sussex County Democratic Committee’s De-velopment Committee concluded, “As I have accompanied David and Joe on most of their outreach ef-forts throughout the county, I have sensed that the voters of Sussex County like most of the voters in our nation are fed up with business as usual. And as a result, I believe that in this year’s elections, their votes will confirm that they no longer believe that the complete control of either our national or county governments, by one group or political party, is in their best interest. “
