SUSSEX COUNTY -— The Sussex County Democratic Committee and Victory 2005 opened their new campaign office Friday night, Sept. 9, with an open house, followed by a Young Democrats meeting. The office is located on the fifth floor of 93 Spring Street in Newton. It is expected to be the center for all Democratic Party campaign activities throughout the county this year. "The opening of this campaign office is one more clear sign of the growing influence and power of Sussex County Democrats," said Howard Burrell, county Democratic chairman. "This will be an important ‘rallying point' for all those who want to help expand the Democratic presence in Sussex County and make Jon Corzine the next governor." Bonnie Watson Coleman, New Jersey State Democratic chair, said the new office "will enhance our volunteer recruitment and voter outreach programs in Sussex County. From this central campaign hub, Democrats will work to make inroads in Sussex County the same way that Democrats have done in every other county. They are going door to door and talking to voters about the issues that are important to them, like good jobs, good schools, lower property taxes and making New Jersey a more affordable place to live."
