Sussex County — Ross Nochimson, DO, a pain management specialist a Barnert Hospital in Paterson is this year’s winner of The Partner’s Against Pain Award, a national award established by the American Osteopathic Foundation through a generous grant from Perdue Pharma to reward excellence in the field of pain management and salute those who made great strides in helping those suffering with acute and or chronic pain. The money from the award will be used to host seminars on pain management for the medical community and expand the Pain Center’s programs and services. As the Chief of Pain Management Services at Barnert Hospital, Nochimson personally handles the cases of acute and chronic pain that are referred to him both at the Pain Center and for inpatient care. This includes utilizing interventional pain management and/or practical interdisciplinary pain management solutions to those patients requiring assistance. Nochimson, a Sparta resident, has recently started to practice in the Newton-Sparta area and has received privileges at Newton Memorial Hospital as the first fellowship trained pain management specialist to receive permission to practice in that hospital. Over time, Nochimson said he hopes to engage with the local medical community in order to provide assistance to the people of Sussex County with their pain management needs.
