Fairview Lake YMCA hosts open house for campers

Stillwater - The Fairview Lake YMCA is inviting parents and children interested in attending summer camp to join them for an open house on Feb. 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. The facility, is at 1035 Fairview Lake Road in Stillwater. Attendees are welcome to tour the facilities and meet with the camp staff that will be on hand to answer questions. “Our summer camps have a rich history of providing children with stimulating activities that are both fun and safe,” said Ellie Daingerfield, executive director of Fairview Lake YMCA. “In a recent survey conducted by the Metropolitan YMCA of the Oranges, 94 percent of respondents rated their experience at Fairview Lake YMCA as either good or excellent overall.” Fairview Lake YMCA is home to more than two dozen sleepaway camps offered to children in grades 2 through 11. Their summer camps give campers the option of choosing from a traditional summer camp experience a specialty camps, which allows campers to focus on one specific area of interest such as sailing, windsurfing, horseback riding or much more. Fairview Lake YMCA also offers Environmental Trips for Challenge (ETC) consists of more than just pretty scenery. Campers are challenged to push themselves and learn new skills as they navigate through nature by way of bikes, canoes, repelling ropes, long hikes and more. ETC campers have the opportunity to experience a number of unique activities offered in nearly a dozen different camping programs to kids and teens in grades 5 through 11.
