August 1 At 3:50 p.m., Patricia E. Laliker, 56, of Hardyston, traveling on Route 23 made a stop by Urban Street. The vehicle behind her, operated by Scott T Bregman, 35, of Hamburg, also stopped. Bregman's vehicle was then struck from behind by a car operated by Clyde D Nau, 50, of Far Hills. The impact pushed Bregman's vehicle into Laliker's vehicle. All three drivers sustained minor injuries in the collision. Laliker and Bregman were both transported to St Clare's Hospital in Sussex by the Hamburg Emergency Medical Squad, where they were treated and released. Nau was issued a summons for careless driving and is scheduled to appear in the Hamburg Municipal Court in September. Patrolman Erik Aronson investigated the collision. Patrolman Roger Titus and the Hamburg Fire Department assisted at the scene. At 5:23 p.m., Thomas D. Thiessen, 43, of Hamburg, was arrested on Orchard Street by Patrolman Erik Aronson after it was learned there was an outstanding warrant for Thiessen's arrest from the Wantage Municipal Court for a simple assault charge. Thiessen was unable to post $500 bail and was turned over to the New Jersey State Police. Patrolman Roger Titus assisted with the arrest.
