byram —New students at the Byram Intermediate School were introduced to the school's student assignment book by Jack Curran, guidance counselor, at a recent orientation session. The book is an organized reference manual that assists the students in understanding and using the resources of the intermediate school. The front section of the book contains the student handbook that helps students familiarize themselves with the school's policies, student activities and facilities. Part two of the book is a calendar for use with daily assignments and long-range planning. Other topics covered in the book include the dress code, the grading system, report cards, school and personal property, and new student activities. This handbook/assignment book is especially informative to the new students because it helps in familiarizing them with the academic and extra-curricular programs of the school, noted Curran.
