Happy October

Crystal Springs’ 20th Annual Oktoberfest took place Sunday at Mineral’s Hotel on Route 94 in Vernon. Polka music provided by the Grammy award winning Jimmy Sturr Band and German music by other bands put visitors in the mood for draining steins of beer, while they dined on German favorites such as knockwurst and weiswurst, potato pancakes, strudel and Black Forest gateaux. Lots of activities for the younger visitors were available, including pony rides, pie-eating contests and a rotten-tomato toss.
