NEWTON — The Sussex County Department of Human Services is offering seven free HealthEASE educational programs to local organizations and groups. These health promotion programs are one-hour in length and cover the topics of exercise and fitness, nutrition, heart health, bone health, medication, the mind and falling. HealthEASE was developed through a three-year grant from the New Jersey Health Initiatives arm of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The goal of HealthEASE was to develop and pilot a model to coordinate and expand health promotion and disease prevention services for older adults at the local level. The New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services developed and implemented the model for local area agencies throughout New Jersey. These programs are available to senior clubs, senior housing sites, health organizations and community organizations that are interested in encouraging health promotion and disease prevention. To schedule one or more of the presentation, contact the Sussex County Department of Human Services, Division of Senior Services, at 973-579-0555, ext. 1222, or email seniorservices@sussex.nj.us.
