Hospital offers courses

    Newton — Newton Memorial Hospital wants to educate the public on Basic Life Support and First Aid at sessions offered monthly at Newton Memorial, the Sparta Health and Wellness Center, and Milford Health and Wellness Center. The following classes will be held in May: Family and Friends Adult & Pediatric CPR, a one-day course that teaches CPR and how to help choking adults, children or infants, will be held 7 to 10 p.m. on Thursday, May 30 at Newton Memorial Hospital. The cost is $20. Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED course will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 19 at Newton Memorial Hospital. The cost is $60. Heartsaver Adult and Pediatric CPR will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, May 21 at the Milford Health & Wellness Center, and from 7 to 10 p.m. on Wednesday, May 30 at Newton Memorial Hospital. The cost is $35. Heartsaver AED and CPR course will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 26 at the Sparta Health & Wellness Center. The cost is $40. The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in CPR and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the American Heart Association and any fees charged for such a course do not represent income to the association.
