Investigation on Wild West shooting continues

    BYRAM —Police responded to a shooting that took place at Wild West City on July 7 where an ongoing investigation is being held. During a western scene reenactment of nine individuals, one of the cowboy actors suffered an apparent gunshot wound to his forehead. The victim, Scott Harris, 37, of Netcong, was transported to University Hospital, Newark, where he remains in critical condition. The projectile, which appears to be a bullet, remains in his head. Items of potential evidential value, including firearms were seized by investigating officers. The investigation continues with Byram police and the Sussex County Prosecutor’s Office working in concert. Police are searching for visitors who may have seen or video recorded any thing between the hours of 1 and 4 p.m. on July 7. To report any information, contact the Detective Bureau at 973-347-4008.
