“Kabbala of Character” latest in series at Chabad Center
Rockaway Some of the most practical and applicable Kabalistic texts, culled from the Zohar and other major Kabalistic sources, will be explored during an eight-week course offered at the Chabad Center of Northwest New Jersey. The course will begin on Wednesday, Jan. 24, at 7:45 p.m. at the Chabad Center, located at One Torah way in Rockaway Township. The course will also be offered at the Mountain Lakes Club, 18 Lake Drive, starting Tuesday, Jan. 23, at 7:30 p.m. “The intent of Kabbala is often misunderstood in popular culture” explained Rabbi Asher Herson, regional director of the Chabad Center of Northwest N.J., and a course instructor. “A mystic’ is one who persistently works on improving his or her innate character traits and continually strives to grow as a person. In addition, mystics’ directly connect their own spiritual growth with the pursuit of improving our greater society and extending care to every individual; emotionally, materially and spiritually. “Each person will relate to, and implement, these spiritual principles on his or her own gradient, but it really starts with the wisdom gained from the textual study of carefully chosen Kabalistic sources. “In this course, the easy-to-use format and practical tools presented will give each student a meaningful grasp of their truest spiritual qualities and enable them to be utilized in every day life.” For further information and registration, call the Chabad Center at 973-625-1525, ext. 227, or visit www.onetorahway.org.
