Kamikaze Cookoff' raises thousands for K.E.E.P.
Sparta - The fourth annual “Kamikaze Cookoff” sponsored by K.E.E.P., Inc., and radio station WSUS 102.3, was held Wednesday, Feb. 8, at the East Tokyo Japanese Restaurant in Byram. The event raised thousands of dollars for K.E.E.P. to use on behalf of children in Sussex County. The meals were prepared by K.E.E.P. employees and event participants. Prizes were awarded in a number of categories, including awards for those particularly good with knives, best costumes, worst cook and best cook. Fine jewelry and gift certificates were donated as prizes by J. Thomas Jewelers. K.E.E.P., Inc. is a non-profit organization serving children from six weeks to 12 years old in full- and part-time care. K.E.E.P. is present in 21 locations throughout Sussex County.
