Kittatinny grad returns from Iraq to talk to students

    STILLWATER - A member of Kittatinny Regional High School class of 1997, U. S. Army Lt. Will Waddell returned to his former high school recently to tell students about his experiences while serving as a Troop Executive Officer in Iraq for the past year. The West Point graduate from the Class of 2001 gave a firsthand account about the war actions, the culture of the people and the political process in Iraq. He was in charge of 250 men and 100 vehicles and their mission was to protect the borders between Iraq, Saudi Arabia and Syria. Lt. Waddell talked with students in American history and current issues classes, giving his account of post-war Iraq. He and his men were stationed in Fallujah, where intense fighting has captured the news in recent weeks. The son of Sandie and Bill Waddell of Stillwater, Lt. Waddell has been reassigned to Colorado and will be involved in re-training activities at Fort Carson.
