Kittatinny students aid kids whose parents are in court

Newton - In conjunction with a NORWESCAP program held at the Superior Court in Newton, the junior high student council at Kittatinny Regional High School is helping to provide gifts to children whose parents are involved in court proceedings. The children range in age from infancy to adolescence and the gifts are intended to give them “something nice” to keep them busy while they wait for their parents. Also, the items should be interesting enough that the children would want to take them home with them when they leave. To enable the program to continue, 25 student council members were each given $5 by the student council, and, with the help of their parents, they shopped for a book or a toy that would be suitable for the children. Many of the Kittatinny students also used money of their own to buy “extras.”
