Lake Mohawk welcomes the season with a visit by Santa

Sparta - The Junior Woman’s Club of Sparta hosted its 8th Annual Festival of Trees on Nov. 18 and 19, at the Lake Mohawk Golf Club. This year the event featured 20 decorated sponsored trees up for sale in a silent auction, as well as uniquely decorated artificial wreaths. All proceeds from this year’s event went to Cherished Creations and the Sussex County American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The trees were judged Friday night at the annual Gala. The results are as follows: Best Tree of The Forest went to “I’ll Be Home for Christmas ‘If Only In My Dreams’” decorated by Ibranyi is Floral. Sponsored by Harte Orthodontics. Second Place Best Tree of the Forest went to “Santa’s Shells” decorated by The Caruso Family in Memoriam of Debbie Caruso. Sponsored by Heidi Hyland, Century 21 Gross & Jansen. Third Place Best Tree of the Forest went to “And a Partridge in a Pear Tree” decorated by Mercedes Appaluccio. Sponsored by the Zugelder Family. Best Use of Theme went to “Starry, Starry Night” decorated by Joyce Buerkle. Sponsored by Outside the Box Events. The Debbie Caruso Award for Creativity went to “Drums Along the Mohawk” decorated by Catherine M. Earl. Sponsored by Danforth’s Marine.
