Lauren Galonski crowned Andover's Queen

Andover - Well-rounded, talkative, and energetic is how 18-year old Lauren Galonski, winner of the Miss Andover contest, describes herself. Galonski was one of five contestants to compete for the title of Miss Andover in a ceremony held July 15, at Hillside Park and Hall. The contest was open to girls ages 17-21 who exemplify qualities of leadership. A graduate of Newton High School, Galonski’s future plans include attending Cabrini College in the fall where she will major in elementary education and minor in psychology. Ultimately, Galonski plans to pursue an administrative certificate with the intent of becoming a principal. As Andover’s social ambassador, Galonski will make appearances at all the major events in the township as well as represent Andover in the upcoming New Jersey State Fair where she will vie for the title of Queen of the Fair. Galonski’s interests extend far beyond pageants. She plays an active role in her school and her community. At Newton High School, she was the vice president of the Future Farmer’s of America, the vice president and secretary of the Student Council, and a peer leader in the Interact Service Club. She also participated in Andover Clean-up Day. When asked why she entered the Miss Andover Contest, Lauren replied, “I love my town. I wanted to represent it at the fair.”
