At 4 years old, Gabriella Marie Klekner. known as Bella, became one of the youngest people to make a donation to Locks of Love in June 2006. She actually decided she was going to donate when she was 2 1/2 years old after seeing pictures of children who had lost their hair from chemotherapy. She said “I’ll give them some of my hair, mommy!” Her mother explained she would have to grow it longer to have 10 inches to cut. The day after her dance recital the entire family went to Definitions Salon in Byram to watch Bella get her hair cut. “She wasn’t scared, she was ready,” her mother said. She is now growing her hair back so she can donate it again. (Photos provided)
