The Sparta Historical Society and the 33rd New Jersey Volunteer Regiment welcome local residents to a journey into the lives of Civil War soldiers. The reenactment group hosted its annual encampment on the grounds of the historical society’s headquarters located next to the Sparta Middle School. The soldiers are accompanied by some of their wives and other craftsmen who helped make their temporary shelters feel a little more like home. (Photos by Amy Cilli)
