AUGUSTA — Lynn Lancaster, local businesswoman and Creative Director of AdvancedGroup.net, was the guest speaker at the New Jersey WIC (Women, Infant and Children) quarterly nutrition services meeting held at the Department of Transportation in Ewing, N.J. last month. AdvancedGroup.net was contracted by Plainfield-based Women, Infant and Children to build an extensive, interactive Web site that teaches women and children the importance of good nutrition. The Women, Infant and Children Web site combines 5 lessons written by the State of New Jersey Women, Infant and Children in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, with animated activities. Delighted with the results of the project, the State of New Jersey Women, Infant and Children Services has indicated an interest in implementing the program statewide, and has requested that Lancaster present it next year at the National Women, Infant and Children conference in Pittsburgh, where over 1000 WIC representative are expected to be in attendance. Said Lancaster, “This has been a dream job for our company and for me personally. My background is in illustration, and in the corporate world where most of our Web sites are created, I rarely get the opportunity to incorporate that training. The New Jersey Women, Infant and Children Web site combines lesson plans, drawings, animations, user interactivity, and sophisticated programming that records the responses of all participants. When it is completed, it will be a wonderful showcase not only of New Jersey Women, Infant and Children’s campaign to offer creative and fun ways to encourage WIC participants to learn about nutrition, but also of the capabilities of AdvancedGroup.net.” AdvancedGroup.net provides Web site development and hosting services to local companies and businesses nationwide. The corporate office is located in Augusta, N.J. For additional information, call 948-0400 or visit www.AdvancedGroup.net.
