NEWTON — Newton native and research entomologist, Jeffrey White, is featured as an expert on Animal Planet Series “Infested!” White isn’t afraid to play with “creepy crawlers” or experience a few bed bug bites. Because of his expertise with such critters he will be featured in Animal Planet’s second season of the highly popular series, “Infested!”. White, the technical director of BedBug Central, a free information resource concerning bed bugs and bed bug related issues, will provide expert perspectives and opinions in all nine episodes of the series (seven individual episodes and two best-of episodes). “Infested!” features the unbelievable, real-life horror stories of ordinary people plagued by extraordinary infestations. From snakes, spiders and scorpions, to rats, roaches and raccoons, the series highlights nature’s nastiest critters at their worst. “It’s always an honor to be a part of this type of programming. I was thrilled when Animal Planet asked me to participate once again in the series,” said White. “I had such a great experience when I did the 'Bedbugs, Rats, and Scorpions’ episode for the first season of the series so I was happy to participate again.” White has been featured as an expert on ABC’s The View, NBC’s Nightly News with Brian Williams, NBC’s Today’s Show, ABC’s World News Tonight with Diane Sawyer and Dateline. In addition, White has been quoted as a bed bug expert in Time Magazine, Women's Health, Redbook, The LA Times, Chicago Tribune and the NY Daily News. “When I'm asked to serve as an expert for productions like 'Infested!’ I take particular care to ensure that I’m providing quality information to the viewers,” said White. White is also the host of BedBug Central’s Bed Bug TV, a user-driven video-blog that covers all of the topics users want to hear about relating to bed bugs. “Infested!” premiered Friday, Dec. 30 at 9 p.m. on Animal Planet. The series will air every Friday for the next nine weeks.
