Local high schooler awarded college scholarship
Stanhope Berkeley College President Dr. Mildred Garcia has announced that a high school senior from Sussex County, Caitlin Della Sala, has been awarded a scholarship to attend the college’s campus in Paramus. The scholarship was awarded based upon academic achievement in high school. “It is an honor to recognize the academic accomplishments of high school seniors by awarding scholarships to attend Berkeley College,” said Garcia. “As a college that values diversity, fosters academic growth and recognizes the potential of each student, Berkeley College looks forward to welcoming scholarship recipients to our campuses in the coming year.” Della Sala, a Stanhope resident and Hopatcong High School senior, received a Partial Alumni Scholarship to attend the college. Alumni Association Scholarships are awarded annually to high school seniors who demonstrate a high level of achievement in high school combined with the highest level of achievement on the entrance examination. To be considered for this scholarship, students must complete the admissions requirements by Dec. 15. All high school seniors who take the test are considered for this scholarship, with preference extended to those who have applied for early acceptance to Berkeley. Berkeley College currently maintains an enrollment of 5,500 students, including 500 international students, in its baccalaureate and associate degree programs.
