Corrections Officer Todd Blohm was promoted to sergeant in the Sussex County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Corrections, Sheriff Michael Strada said.

Blohm was hired as a corrections officer in July 2009. He attended the Passaic County Police Academy and graduated in December 2010.

He received the Meritorious Service Award and was named the Employee of the Month in June 2016 for his actions while responding to a dryer fire in the jail’s laundry area.

He was a member of the Bureau of Corrections Special Operations Group and received extensive training alongside the New Jersey Department of Corrections Special Operations Group for scenarios including but not limited to hostage rescue and active shooter.

Blohm’s leadership, work ethic and positive attitude have been recognized by his supervisors throughout his career and he is an invaluable asset to the department, Strada said.
