Car hits school bus

HOPATCONG — A Lenape Valley School bus was rear-ended by a 19-year-old from Hopatcong on Tuesday evening, May 1. The school bus, driven by Thomas L. Hulse III, 65, of Stanhope was hit from behind as it was stopped in traffic on Route 15. There were no students aboard. The driver of the car was Jadelyse Mead, who said her foot got caught beneath the brake pedal. Both drivers complained of back pain, both were transported to Newton Medical Center where they were treated and released. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. Mead was cited for careless driving and tailgating.
