Irish dancers work year round

STANHOPE — If you've watched Irish dancers perform during the St. Patrick's Day celebrations and thought "Wow, how talented!", well here's why; they hone their craft year round. Those steps required skill and stamina and that means no vacation for Irish dancers. From the beginners to championship level, they are continually working to improve technique, master old material, as well as learn new choreography. Irish dance competitions, "feiseanna" continue year round as well, so it's important for competitive dancers to remain at the top of their game.
An Clar School of Irish Dance, on Route 206 in Stanhope, and its' teacher, Lexa Hickey, TCRG provides classes year round for all levels. There are also special summer sessions for Tiny Tots (ages 3-4) and Intro to Irish dance (ages 5 & up) for dancers wishing to try it out. Registration is also underway for 2016-2017 classes (including Tiny Tots).
