Kids launch their own businesses

SPARTA — Reverend Brown School will hold their second annual TREP$ Marketplace. It is a unique flea-market style event in that all of the vendors are children in grades 6 through 8. Over the past six weeks, the students have been participating in the award-winning TREP$ after-school program where they have learned the basics of entrepreneurship. This program has earned the New Jersey PTA’s highest honor, The Champion for Children Award in 2006. On Friday, March 9, the students will put what they have learned to the test as they launch their own businesses for the night. Merchants include The Irish Bazarre, P & C Thrift Store, Ashley’s Crafty Candles, Simply Scarves, Bodacious Bows and Bracelets, M & M Garden Treasures, Glass Works, The Book of Basketball Records, Cromatron Apps Inc., Bay and Trail Co., Caroline’s Crystal Creations, I’m Sticky, Danny’s Graffiti Sketches, For the Love of Pups, Fleece Fun, Stylon Socks, Trevors Teasers, Duct Tape Galore, Jesse’s Waxworx, Soap-A-Licious, Silly School Supplies, Catherine’s Colorful Things, Puff-n-Stuff, Pretty Pops, Victoria’s Other Secret, Sassy Makeovers, Bones and Chloe’s Accessories Those coming with an appetite will not be disappointed. Tony’s Little Bit of Italy, Vita-C-Tea, Fresh Italian Soup, Don’s Waffle House, Baby Cakes, Michael’s Marshmallow Shooters, Baked Pops, Stephen’s Bake Shop, Pizza and Baby Cakes/Coffee will offer consumable delights. Everything will be available for purchase to all cash-carrying members of the public attending the TREP$ Marketplace at McKenna Hall/Rev Brown School at 294 Sparta Ave, on Friday, March 9 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public, cash only.
