Kids read to a dog at Sussex County Library

| 31 Jan 2019 | 09:45

At 6:30-7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 6, Sussex County children ages 5 to 10 are invited to practice their reading skills by reading aloud to Trixie, a fun and furry Saint Bernard therapy dog. Each child will be allowed a full 10 minutes of one-on-one reading time. Trixie is a great listener and never interrupts or criticizes. Children who read aloud gain self-esteem, confidence, public speaking skills and a love of reading.
Each child signs up for a specific time slot: 6:30, 6:45, 7:00 or 7:15 p.m. Registration is in person or over the phone by calling the Sussex-Wantage Branch at 973-875-3940, option 2. Arrive on time with an enjoyable book to read, or early enough to choose some library books. The library is located at
69 Route 639, Wantage. For information about additional library programs, call 973-875-3940.
